I decided to give it a try and learned that layering is the key. This jacket is to keep the wind off and it does just that. The layers underneath keep you warm. I had to read about that on a cycling website. After having used it on a few sub-freezing day this year and can say it was worth it. The fit is excellent. I am 6"0" and 185 and the large fits great. Having the vents is a plus in rapidly changing weather. It can be forty in the morning and 72 in the afternoon.
