A season like that could be hard to major, but the addition of Hull proved for being the final piece from the puzzle. That year, Hitchcock and the Stars pushed their way recent the Oilers, the St. Louis Blues and the Colorado Avalanche to the Stanley Cup finals. After an intense sixgame struggle, the Stars beat this Buffalo Sabres on Hull's disputed overtime intention.
